RAHIM YAR KHAN: MNA Jamshed Dasti has alleged that the Pakistan People’s Party has been hijacked by a corrupt gang, led by Prime Minister Yusuf Raza Gilani.
Addressing the Rahim Yar Khan district bar function on Thursday, Dasti said the PPP was violating its manifesto and the prime minister should be held responsible for it, as he was spearheading a loot and corruption spree in the country. He alleged that even the Benazir Income Support Programme (BISP) forms could not be distributed among the deserving people because of Yusuf Raza Gilani’s corruption and interference.
He announced that a movement would be launched after Eid for formation of a new province comprising the Seraiki belt. However, he made it clear, the people of the region didn’t want to take up arms for creation of a new province nor they wanted to create Balochistan or Karachi-like situation in their areas. He said an announcement should be made at the earliest about formation of the Seraiki province if the security and safety of the country is dear to the powers-that-be. He said people of the region wanted a Seraiki province, no matter even if Bahawalpur is declared its provincial headquarters. He said formation of Seraiki province was a must to end a sense of deprivation among the area people.
