KARACHI: Around 22 people were arrested in a clash between the activists of the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) and Punjabi Pakhtoon Ittehad (PPI) at Railway Colony, Malir within the limits of Al-Falah police station. SHO Nawaz Chatta said that the dispute erupted between two groups on the issue of land situated at Railway Colony, Golden area. A few weeks back, police had evacuated the said land but on Thursday they received an information that some land grabbers were trying to intrude again. In the meantime, the other group reached and a clash erupted resulting in injuries to two. Heavy contingents of police and Rangers rushed to the scene and controlled the situation. SP Chaudhry Asad said that police arrested around 22 people belonging to both sides, including Mazhar Iqbal and Imdad Shah belonged to PPI. SHO Chatta further informed that the centre of the conflict is 200 square yards strip of land. But it is the land of Railway. No case was registered till filing the report.
