KARACHI:The corruption of 50 crore Rupees unfolded in renovation of Benazir Park, while park is still under construction / renovation. Corruption of Rs500 million has been unearthed in development works of Boat Basin Park, which was established on the name of Shaheed Benazir Bhutto, in Karachi.
Director Anti-Corruption Establishment, Javed Baloch, prepared a detailed report after getting proofs and sent it to chief secretary Sindh.
The report sought permission to register case and arrest four senior officers, contractors and other responsible officials of Horticulture Department.
According to the details, President Zardari was informed by the members of parliament regarding the millions of rupees irregularities carried out in development works of Benazir Bhutto Shaheed Boat Basin Park.
On the direction of the president, anti-corruption team took into custody all the record of Benazir Bhutto Park from the office of Horticulture Department after a raid on March 8. Some officers were also brought there to record their statements. But on the intervention of an influential personality of the Sindh these officers were allowed to go without recording their statement.
