LAHORE: Lahore High Court Bar Association (LHCBA) elections’ polling is underway, where a hectic activity was witnessed since early morning, as the candidates and their supporters seen canvassing at the polling camps thronged by the voters on Saturday here.
A total of 18,895 out of 22,469 voters will be able to exercise their rights of franchise.
Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) and Muslim League-Nawaz (ML-N)’s joint candidate, Abid Saqi, Hamid Khan Group’s Syed Muhammad Shah besides two independent candidates are in the race for president slot.
A.Qayyum Tahir Chaudhry and Chaudhry Ghulam Sarwar Nahang vying for the post of vice-president.
Chaudhry Latif Sara, Balighuzzaman Chaudhry and Shahzad Khadim Manday contesting for the post of secretary, while for the finance secretary Feroze Malik, Shabnam Nagi and Usman Sher Gondal are the candidates.
Polling will continue until 5.00 P.M. in the evening with a break of one hour at noon.
