The arrests were made after 2011, report says.
KARACHI (Dunya News) – As Supreme Court resumed hearing of Karachi law and order case, the Inspector General (IG) Sindh Police presented a detailed report over the incidents of target killings and extortion in the city.
A larger bench headed by Chief Justice Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry resumed hearing of Karachi law and order case today (Thursday) at Supreme Court`s Karachi Registry.
The report submitted by IG Sindh included a list of 224 alleged target killers, having affiliation with different political parties and banned outfits.
It was mentioned in the report that 81 alleged target killers were affiliated with Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM), 38 Sunni Tehreek (ST), 4 Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP), 9 Tehreek-e-Insaaf (PTI) and 13 others belonged to Awami National Party (ANP).
The list also included names of 27 members of Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP), Lyari gang war’s 17, People Aman Committee’s 6, Lashkar-e-Jhangvi’s 2 and Jundullah’ five members allegedly involved in target killings and extortion.
The case hearing is underway.
