KARACHI: A terrorist arrested earlier today turned out to be government servant, working as Grade 16 officer in Auqaf Department.
CNBC Pakistan learnt from CID Karachi sources that the accused, identified as Adnan aka Abu Hamza, got himself appointed in Auqaf Dept using influence of a PTI personality in Lahore.
Just one month back, he got himself transferred to Karachi, and was planning to target important sensitive buildings.
The arrest was made when Abu Hamza had gone to West Wharf to collect money from unknown persons.
Two hand grenades and a pistol were also seized from his possession.
CID sources said Abu Hamza, an active member of Naeem Bukhari group in Karachi and a wanted terrorist according to Red Book, was also involved in attack at Rangers vehicle at University Road.
PTI, meanwhile, has denied any link with any terrorist.
