Karachi: Federal Interior Minister, Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan asked Karachi police chief, Shahid Hayat Mehsud, who is being criticized by MQM over custodial killings of its workers in Karachi, that “What is your problem?”
Hayat Mehsud responded that “I am Pathan”, it has also been reported that Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) workers, who had faced severe torture, latter disclose that they were being tortured on their ethnicity (Mohajir basis). On the other-side, Journalists and intellectuals label MQM as ‘ethnic based’ political party, when it condemns such discrimination against Mohajirs.
When the supremo of Karachi police is declaring himself as “Pathan”, an ethnicity, and none of any journalist or intellectual has condemned such statements from police chief.
