KARACHI: Pakistan Tehrik-i-Insaf Sindh Assembly candidate Inayat Khattak announced here Friday announced his party's decision to boycott re-polling in Karachi’s PS-128 scheduled for Saturday.

X-Reports has unveiled that PTI and ANP, both are going to support SSP’s chief Aurangzeb Farooqi on PS-128

The decision, he said, was due to absolute disregard for PTI's demand that re-polling exercise must be undertaken in the entire constituency and not in six selected polling stations.
He said the PTI has already submitted before the Election Commission to ensure re-polling for PS-128, and that re-polling must be carried out under the surveillance of the Army.

Khattak said his party had also demanded the installation of closed-circuit cameras in the polling stations and the presence of army personnel in polling booths so as to avert any chance of rigging.

The provincial assembly’s PS-128 constituency comprises mainly of Karachi’s Quaidabad area.

According to the Election Commission’s website, PTI candidate Khattak received 3557 in polling on May 11.

The Muttahida Qaumi Movement’s Waqar Hussain Shah is in a leading position with 23,496 votes, while Aurangzaib Farooqui of the Ahle Sunnat Wal Jamaat (ASWJ), part of the Muttahida Deeni Mahaz (MDM), trails with 21,332 votes.
