Report exposing the PML-N and ASWJ ties gets removed

Tuesday, 19 February 2013

20-02-2013
Exclusive: Abdul Mannan, a correspondent of Express Tribune paper, wrote an article, on the 39th week of September 2012, in which he disclosed the seat adjustment agreement that had been reached between PML-N and Ahl-e-Sunnat Wal Jamaat (former SSP). The reporter, Abdul Mannan, however, later tweeted to his boss about the removal of the article from Tribune’s website due to the pressure exerted by PML-N.

Manan retweeted a tweet from @ASilentKnight on 4 October 2012 at 09:19 which said something like this,

“@ASilentKnight: “@manan189: #PMLN managed to get it removed from our website. covert deal b/w Sharifs n ASWJ per http://t.co/DJPfzOSP via @etribune”

Manan complained to his boss about the removal of the article from the Tribune's website. However, PML-N could not get the article removed from the epaper version of Tribune.

‘Reconciliation’ between Express Tribune and N-League or what?

Saturday, 28 July 2012

28-07-2012
Karachi: It seems that PML-N is trying to influence Express media group or Express media group is trying to keep its relations clean with PML-N.
The same scenario has been explained by Dr. Awab Alvi, Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf’s social media team member, in his personal blog.
Express Tribune published an article on 27 July titled “Web presence: Punjab govt footing bill for PML-N social media revamp”. It remained on the website for few hours and then around 10 pm the article was deleted from the Express Tribune’s website without any explanation, says Awab in his blog.
Same is the case with another article titled, “PML-N’s – ‘Like’ my Facebook page News Item”. It was deleted from the website after remaining there for few hours. May be all these efforts by Express Tribune are because they want to get their share of the heavily budgeted advertisement campaigns of PML-N that are active on various channels and newspapers or PML-N is doing some special favors for the Express media house.
And the sad part is that PML-N and PPP are running their party media campaigns as government advertisements, which means they are using the tax money for their own use.
