KARACHI: A member of Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf’s student wing Insaf Students’ Federation (ISF) was shot dead in Karachi on Sunday.
ISF member Dilawar Ali Awan was shot in the chest thrice by unknown armed men on Zamzama Street within the Clifton police area.
ISF Sindh President Alamgir Khan confirmed that Awan was an ISF member and said that his party has announced a day of mourning for his death.
However, the police stated that the victim was not affiliated with any political party or student organisation and was killed in a personal brawl.
“He was neither a member of any party nor he was killed in a targeted assassination,” SHO Asif Ali Jakharani.
“Before claiming his affiliation with the party, the PTI or ISF should have at least confirmed the nature of the incident,” Jakharani said. “I don’t think any party will claim someone who is killed over a call girl as its member.”
While social media activists of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf alleged that MQM is involved in the killing of ISF's member. PTI cyber force has started campaign against MQM on social media sites and accusing that MQM is behind this killing.

On Tuesday, US Ambassador in Pakistan Cameron Munter revealed that Imran Khan (PTI) and Nawaz Sharif (PMLN) both assured him of a pro-US stance after next elections. Munter said, chiefs of PML-N and PTI both leaders had assured him that they will completely support the US.
While at the other hand, both leaders publicly portrayed as they were anti-US, by their speeches and statement they preached hatred and fuel enraged against US but Munter's statement has brought turmoil to the politics of Pakistan. Interesting point is that, none of the two above named leaders denied it yet.
Talat Hussain, a reowned anchorperson, analyst and journalist lashes out the policies of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf and N-League. Talat expresses in his column "Raah-e-Raast", Imran has changed his policies. Imran and his party had staged demonstration against Drone Attacks and threatened government on the re-opening of NATO supply. It was expected that Imran's party will oppose re-opening of NATO supply but Imran didn't do any thing, Talat wrote. When he asked about PTI's stance over re-opening of NATO supply, few of PTI leaders disliked this bitter question. Talat added, PTI is the hope for youth but right now it feels like whatever is going on in Pakistan either good or bad is not a concern of PTI, as they are involve in their intra party elections.

PTI’s Chairman Mr. Imran Khan lashed out PPP's government & took a aggressive stance against PPP's Prime Minister Yosuf Raza Gilani. On many occassion, PTI’s leaders including Imran Khan alleged Ex PM Gillani to be most corrupt PM in the history of Pakistan. Meanwhile, Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) filed a Constitutional petition against Gilani for continuing to hold office despite being convicted for contempt of court by the Supreme Court. Imran Khan warned Gilani and PPP leadership that Tsunami March of his supporters would sweep them away from the power corridors. Later on Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gilani was disqualified by Supreme Court of Pakistan.
Keeping in mind previously, on 11 February 2001, Gillani was imprisoned in the infamous Adiala Jail by military court instituted under CMLA for charges of corruption.The NAB claimed that Gillani inflicted a loss of Rs 30 million annually on the national exchequer, when he was Speaker of the National Assembly in 1993–97.
Now, a bitter fact, which will astonishing for most of the people. Who inaugurated Namal College, Mianwali? Yes, the chief guest was non other than Mr. Yosuf Raza Gilani. The college was inaugurated by Syed Yousaf Raza Gillani, the Prime Minister of Pakistan, on 27 April, 2008 (Wikipedia). Is it not hypocrisy and double standard of PTI? Why a corrupt politician, the most corrupt Prime Minister in the history of Pakistan inaugurated Namal College?

Lahore: Leaders of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf have given opposite opinions on the ECP’s issued election ethics. PTI’s Vice-Chairman, Shah Mehmood Qureshi said; new ethics will put an end on the use of money in election campaign, but question raise here, is it possible for ECP to strictly force implementation of ethics in elections, as previously none bother about it. He added, only if ECP make sure implementation of law it will be a golden chance for a middle class and lower class to come on front side. On the other side, PTI Punjab's steering committee member Mian Mehmood ur Rasheed said, the stance of election commission is not veristic and it doesn’t possess ground reality. Further he said those polling stations which are establish far away from area, how come it will be possible for voters to go and cast their votes without the proper arrangement of transportation. Candidates will be spending money by indirect means in elections.
These statements show massive contradiction in the PTI’s decision making and opinion of party members or party.

But the major event of the day were public gatherings of MQM & ANP. Both parties organised their ‘Pukhtoon’ public gatherings in Karachi. Addressing to ‘red capped’ workers, ANP’s Senator Shahi Syed threatened government and private sectors of Karachi; i.e, if Karachi Port Trust (KPT), Steel Mill, Karachi Municipal Corporation (KMC), Karachi Development Authority (KDA), and specially, Karachi Electric Supply Company (KESC) will not stop discrimination against Pukhtoon in Karachi, ANP workers will destroy all these company/public sectors. Talking about MQM’s Pukhtoon gathering, Shahi said, Pukhtoons were bribed to attend rally and it was promised that cheque will be given to them. Shahi Syed disgraced whole Pukhtoon nation by putting blame that, "Pukhtoons are greedy for money, He called ‘brazenfaced & traitors’ to those Pukhtoons who attended MQM’s rally. Afterwards, he criticized Chief Justice of Pakistan, Ch. Iftikhar. Syed claimed that ANP made alliance with PPP and it will be ‘ever green’.

Karachi: Bloody clashes took place at Baldia between workers of Pakistan’s ruling political party, Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) and Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) for unknown reasons. 6 people, Including PPP’s worker Rashid and PTI’s worker Abdul Saami injured in the clash. Police reached the area and trying to maintain peace there.
In another incident, dispute between two Pushto speaking groups in the area of Nishtar Basti cause chaos in the area. Operatives of both groups fired on each other from their dominant foxholes. They occupied buildings and made picket there.

Its mysterious question that from where Imran Khan is getting revenue for PTI’s gatherings and how is he spending so much money.
Imran Khan and Malik Riaz have links with each other through Hamid Khan. Hamid Khan is the senior Vice President of PTI and he is the legal advisor of Malik Riaz since long time.

PTI changes constitution to open gates for those accused of corruption

ISLAMABAD: The Pakistan Tehrik-e-Insaf (PTI) has revised its constitution, introducing a radical change that would grant immunity to the office-bearers facing corruption charges, a major amendment that could open PTI gates for anyone tainted with corruption charges, even those powerful people who are in the government.
This is in sharp contrast to the PTI position on alleged corruption of sitting rulers who have repeatedly been asked to resign from public offices to clear charges against them, even if they have not yet been convicted by any court.
The clause governing the qualification criteria for the PTI office-bearers in the previous constitution had stated: “…who has not been convicted or charged with an offence of moral turpitude.” In the constitution revised after October 30 mammoth gathering in Lahore, the word ‘charged’ has been removed and now it only says: “…who has not been convicted with an offence of moral turpitude.”
Dr Arif Alvi, PTI secretary general, admitted the amendment has been made, saying the PTI would focus on reputation of the office-bearers instead of charges against them. He denied the amendment has been made to give a clean chit to anybody.
Incidentally, a PTI leader, Amir Kiani, who faces allegations from within the PTI for depriving the party colleagues of hefty money in the name of property business, was also a member of the committee which amended the constitution. The other four members of the constitution committee have either partnered or purchased property through Kiani. They are Dr Arif Alvi, Sardar Azhar Tariq (secretary finance), Saifullah Niazi (additional secretary general) and Asad Qaiser (PTI head of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa chapter).
More importantly, Kiani has also brokered property deals with Imran Khan purchasing from him 40-kanal land in collaboration with three other PTI office-bearers, which according to some critics, makes PTI look like a ‘property guild.’
The amendment in the constitution has apparently been made to save Kiani who is not only holding the position of vice president but has also been appointed chairman of monitoring and evaluation, a slot created for him, no matter it does not exist in the PTI constitution.
A veteran lady member of the PTI who was present when these amendments were discussed by the CEC told The News that Imran Khan personally was not involved in this decision making and the CEC had deliberated at length on the subject. But she conceded that the clause needed further rectification.
The change in the constitution coincides with a letter written by a CEC member, Col (R) Younis Raza to Imran Khan alleging that Amir Kiani had minted millions of rupees from the complainant and his close friends in the name of property deals.
A PTI spokesman when emailed a list of questions that also related to the property deals, raising concerns about the conflict of interests because of these deals, said: “Such business relations among the office-bearers have nothing to do with the party affairs.”
In August, 2011, Col (R) Younis Raza had complained about Kiani’s alleged deals, saying that Kiani had sold him and two retired generals around 100 kanals of land in the outskirts of Islamabad (Talhar and Kotla) in 2004 and 2006 but were either denied possession or not given the documents. Younis also invested in a shopping plaza in Rawalpindi through Kiani in 2006 but failed to get ownership of any shop to-date.
The PTI chairman took no action over his complaint and the party spokesman Shafqat Mahmood told The News that the “issue is being settled.”
Col Younis’ closing line in his letter must be alarming for the PTI leadership: “Certain security agencies had conducted certain inquiries wherein the name of Pakistan Tehrik-e-Insaf had repeatedly been reiterated in this connection in a defamatory and scandalous style.”
The complainant confirmed to The News that he had written the letter that, he said, was withdrawn after no inquiry was ordered, let alone taking action. He wrote this to Imran Khan when Younis was badly in need of money prior to his son’s wedding and thought any recovery from Kiani would lessen his financial trouble.
“I thought Khan Sahib is involved in many projects and he will have no time to attend to my ‘insignificant’ complaint so I thought it best to withdraw my letter and inform him that I would mutually resolve the matter with Amir Kiani,” Col Younis told The News. However, he said, no progress had been made in this regard to-date.
Kiani has been at forefront in property deals with the top party leaders. In 2004, he purchased 40 kanals of land from Imran Khan in Talhar. Kiani was then PTI vice president. PTI’s secretary finance Sardar Azhar Tariq, secretary planning and policy Asad Ansari, and CEC member Col (R) Younis were his co-buyers in this land deal with the top leader, according to Kiani.
Again, it was Kiani who paid token money from his pocket when he negotiated a tract of 35-kanal land in Bani Gala jointly registered in the names of Imran Khan, Dr Arif Alvi, Umar Sarfraz Cheema and Zakir Khan (former cricketer and a friend of Imran Khan). Kiani confirmed this to The News.
Kiani together with his close aide Saifullah Niazi, PTI’s additional secretary general, has also purchased adjacent lands in Bani Gala apart from brokering such deals for Asad Qaiser and Ahmad Jawad (deputy secretary information), other buyers from within the party. Only non-PTI person bought land there is the owner of a famous bakery in Islamabad who financed the advertisement of a sit-in staged by the party in August 2011.
Col (R) Younis in his letter had also alleged, “Senior PTI positions including CEC memberships have been offered on the condition of purchasing land in this scheme (of Bani Gala).”
At the moment, Kiani and Niazi, command tremendous influence over the party leadership and incidentally both were appointed on positions that did not exist in the PTI constitution.
When Dr Arif Alvi was asked as to how the former was appointed chairman monitoring and evaluation and the latter additional secretary general, in violation of the constitution, he said the party chairman is authorised to do so. However, his claim is negated by the PTI constitution. It says that even the creation of special committees cannot be done unless “approved by the CEC from time to time.”

Hashmi's controversial speech resents Imran

Lahore: A recent speech by Javed Hashmi in the Pindi gathering of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf exposed the grouping and lobbying in the PTI. Hashmi had said that there is a group in PTI which wants to run the party like bureaucracy. Hashmi further said that he had left the PML-N for the same reason and everyone should listen that he is a 'Rebel'. It is to be remembered that there are two groups in PTI. During PTI's gathering once again indiscipline crowd & chaos has been witnessed in the gathering. Imaan Hazir Mazari (D/O) Shireen M. Mazari bear injuries by his own party workers, when PTI supporters tried to breakdown the stage, in order to do that they start throwing chairs and other things at stage. One guy threw a stone, which hit Imaan H. Mazari eyes.
Imaan Hazir Mazari belongs to Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf's youth wing, she is district co-ordinator of PTI Youth Rajanpur & PTI's membership co-ordinator Edinburgh.

16th birthday: PTI without most founding members

In its 16 years of existence, the Pakistan Tehrik-e-Insaf (PTI) headed by Imran Khan has lost many of its old stalwarts on one pretext or the other. The founding members and seasoned politicians, who remained dedicated to the party, had either resigned or were sidelined by the party’s top echelon.
Nazim F Haji is on the top of the list of those who left the PTI due to differences with the party chief. Being a founding member Haji Nazim remained the general secretary of the party for about two years and left it in 1998 when serious differences cropped up with the PTI hierarchy on the party structure.
However, Haji Nazim could not be contacted as his cell phone was constantly found switched off. President PTI (Karachi) Ashraf Qureshi, however, confirmed that Haji Nazim had left the party in 1998 i.e. two years after its inception.
The other seasoned politician and founding member of Pakistan People’s Party Mairaj Mohammed Khan, also an old guard and trustworthy man of late Zulfikar Ali Bhutto, had joined the PTI in 1998. He had rather merged his party Qaumi Mahaz-e-Azadi into PTI with the plan that young and energetic blood would fulfill the unfinished goals and aims for which the country was created. However, he resigned from the PTI in 2003, citing differences with Imran Khan
Meraj Mohammed Khan told this correspondent on phone: “I might be wrong since I could not convince the young blood or perhaps he (Imran) did not understand my language, so I resigned from the party’s general secretary slot.
“I explained to (Imran) Khan many a times that cricket is by chance but in politics you have to reach to the people, motivate them and come up with certain plans and policies to attract the masses but, unfortunately, he did not pay any heed. His policies were rather ambiguous whereas in politics one should have to be very clear.
“Now he (Imran Khan) has adopted the policy that I had consistently been convincing him with regard to holding public rallies. And he finally realised after nine years to go to public by holding rallies but the question remains as to whether these rallies would bring him into power or the people would vote for him.
“Why the diehard workers of other political parties would vote for PTI and what major programmes it has chalked out for the masses? And these questions would be raised by the people.
“If Imran suffers defeat in the election he might sustain it for being a strong nerved man but it would certainly be a great shock for the people.”Meraj Mohammed Khan feared that many of his trustworthy stalwarts would prove a nuisance and cause harm to the party’s stature.
The PTI was launched in 1996 with eight founding members - Mohammed Najeeb Haroon, Nazim Haji, Hamid Khan, Dr Pervez Hasan, Abdul Hafeez Khan, Owais Ghanis, Dr Abdul Mateen and Dr Mohammad Farooq, but today it has retained only Najeeb Haroon and Hamid Khan. The main contention between the old guards and the party chief was that the latter preferred new faces to the old ones.
Najeeb Haroon has maintained a relatively low profile while speaking out against injustices in Pakistan. “We often get disillusioned with politics and politicians, especially in places like Pakistan where corruption is rampant and politicians seem to forget the fact that they need to serve the interests and needs of their voters.”
Haroon was also present on the 16th foundation day of the PTI celebrated at the residence of one of the party’s financiers. Other founding members who attended the event included Dr Arif Alvi, Ashraf Qureshi and Jamal Siddiqui, however, party’s Vice President Naeem-ul-Haq did not show up.
Speaking at the cake-cutting ceremony, Dr Arif Alvi said that the PTI was being widely expanded with the induction of high profile political personalities from across the country in order to bring positive change in society.
Referring to PTI rallies held in different cities of the country, he said that Quetta’s rally was the biggest one and attended by the people from different walks of life, who were patriotic and desperate to secure the future of Pakistan.
It came as a surprise for all when national anthem was played at the rally in a province where people even did not like to hear the name of Pakistan, and this was a visible change that proved that these people wanted to live with Pakistan but with a devoted and patriotic leadership that could guarantee the protection of their lives and properties as well as securing their needs and interests, he added.

PTI youth wing forms faction against PTI's Lahore president

LAHORE - Itched by apparently not-so-good performance of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Lahore Region President Mahmadur Rasheed, leaders of party’s youth wing have formed a strong faction against him.
Some of workers of the Youth Wing say that newly inducted leaders are trying to hijack the party which could harm the PTI.
In a letter to the central committee members including Arif Alvi, Hamid Khan, Ahsan Rasheed and Mian Azhar they opined, “Nepotism in PTI is intolerable and if you ignore our opinion we will do the same with you”.
After application, amendments have been made in steering committees of PTI Punjab, the youth members said. The total number of members in Central Punjab Committee is 18, in West Punjab Committee there are 17 members, in North Punjab Committee there are 13 members and in Southern Punjab Committee there are 19 members.
The youth wing also criticized PTI Vice Chairman Shah Mahmood Qureshi on inducting only his loyals and ignoring Central Vice President of the party Ejaz Chaudhry.
The youth wing complained that the Lahore region’s president was converting party into a family party at Lahore level.
“He is inducting his relatives in the party and was lobbying for party ticket,” they noted.
So far the youth wing has conducted four meetings against various party leaders at Bagh-e-Jinnah, a local hotel, residence of Abdul Rasheed Bhatti and a place at Jail Road in which up to 600 party workers took part. Some party insiders view that the PTI vice chairman is interested in leading the youth wing and for this purpose he is supporting central committee’s member Mian Abdul Aleem. Similarly, other main leaders of PTI are also trying to get support of the youth wing, disturbing party affairs in Punjab. But so far the wing has not decided to favour any particular leader.
