Breaking News: Punjab Law minister Rana Mashood caught taking bribe on the name of CM Punjab, a secret video leaked out. The footage has been aired by ARY news.

A stunning TV footage run by private ARY News channel professedly indicates Punjab Law Minister Rana Mashhood Ahmed taking bribe for the sake of Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif from the manager of Future Concerns holder, Asim Malik who is wanted by the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) on human trafficking charges and for fleecing billions of rupees from pure subjects on false guarantees of remote migration.

The mystery footage, apparently recorded in Asim Malik’s office, likewise demonstrates Mashhood uncovering that Hamza Shahbaz Sharif and Salman Shahbaz Sharif of managing poultry costs “which is the reason the costs of poultry are not going under control”.

Mashhood is likewise demonstrated talking on horsetrading of commonplace officials by the decision Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) government.

LAHORE: In an attempt to arrest Pakistan Muslim League (N) MPA Rana Shoaib Idrees, Faisalabad Police raided his in-laws’ house in Misri Shah Lahore today (Wednesday) but the MPA fled just a few minutes before the raid.

Police has raided 30 different places so far in pursuit of the MPA yet it has been able to get hold of the absconder so far. In this latest development Police got the tip today that the MPA is hiding at his in-laws’ house in Misri Shah Lahore.

NAB objects to Shahbaz’s candidacy over Hudaibiya Mills case

ISLAMABAD: The National Accountability Bureau (NAB) Thursday objected to the candidature of Shahbaz Sharif in the upcoming general elections over alleged scam of Hudaibiya Paper Mills, a senior official told.

The Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) Punjab president and the former chief minister, along with his brother PML-N chief Nawaz Sharif, is the main accused in the Rs3,486 million loan default case.

They have been accused of accumulating money and assets beyond their declared means of income by misusing authority. The case was filed with the Attock NAB Court on March 27, 2000.

Abbas Sharif, Hussain Nawaz, Hamza Shahbaz, Shamim Akhtar, Sabiha Abbas, Maryam Safdar and Ishaq Dar are other accused in the case.

The bureau has conveyed its recommendations to the election commission in this regard.
The NAB had set up election cells to help the election commission in the scrutiny of candidates for the May 11 elections. The decision to establish the cells was taken at a meeting held on Feb 20.

The meeting, presided over by Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) Fakharuddin G. Ebrahim, was attended by heads of NAB, Federal Bureau of Revenue (FBR), State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) and National Database Registration Authority (Nadra).

LAHORE: The cheques distributed among victims of the Joseph Colony attack by the Punjab government bounced.

Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif had announced Rs0.5 million in compensation for each of those affected in the mob attack. However, the 265 cheques distributed by the government have bounced.

According to reports, the finance ministry had issued the amount promised. When the cheques bounced, the victims started protesting.

On March 9, an over 3,000-strong mob had set ablaze more than 150 houses of Christians in the Joseph Colony over alleged blasphemous remarks against Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) by Sawan Masih, a 28-year-old Christian sanitation worker.

ISLAMABAD: Feeling clearly upset over Nawaz Sharif-led PML-N’s changing tone and tenor towards Ahle Sunnat Wal Jamaat (defunct Sipah-e-Sahaba Pakistan – SSP), the central leadership of ASWJ has reminded Shahbaz Sharif that he owes his present chief ministership to none other than the Sunni Deobandi religious party which had withdrawn its candidate in his favour from PP-48 Bhakar-II to ensure his election as a member of the Punjab Assembly in June 2008.

Visibly offended over the PML-N spokesman Pervaiz Rasheed’s recent statement that he hardly knew about the existence of a party with the name of Ahle Sunnat Wal Jamaat, ASWJ’s central secretary general Dr Khadim Hussain Dhillon has advised him to better check with his boss, Shahbaz Sharif, on whose request Maulana Mohammad Ludhianvi had withdrawn his party’s candidate [Maulana Abdul Hameed Khalid] in Mian Sahib’s favour to pave the way for his unopposed election as a member of the Punjab Assembly in the June 2008 by-election.

Shahbaz Sharif was elected unopposed from PP-48 (Bhakar-II) on June 2, 2008 after the remaining 17 candidates in the run were made to withdraw from the race. The Bhakar seat had actually been won by an independent candidate, Saeed Akbar Niwani, in the February 18, 2008 elections. He had retained the PP-49 seat and vacated the PP-48 seat after joining the PML-N. Mian Shahbaz Sharif, who could not take part in the February elections after being disqualified by the Lahore High Court, eventually became the provincial chief executive on the same seat on June 8, 2008.

Giving details to The News of the 2008 understanding between ASWJ and the PML-N, Khadim Dhillon said: “Our candidate from PP-48 was Maulana Abdul Hameed Khalid, the president of the Bhakar chapter of the ASWJ. Of the 18 candidates in the run, 16 had been made to withdraw by the local administration [which was under the command of Chief Minister Dost Mohammad Khosa]. Those left in the field were Shahbaz Sharif and Maulana Abdul Hameed Khalid who had refused to withdraw from the race. As the by-election loomed, Shahbaz Sharif approached Maulana Mohammad Ahmed Ludhianvi with a request to withdraw his candidate in his favour. For further talks, a six-member PML-N delegation consisting of Sanaullah Khan Masti Khel, Ikramullah Niazi, Khawaja Ahmed Hassan, Zafarullah Dhada, Afzal Khan Dhada and Najeebullah Khan formally called on Maulana Abdul Hameed Khalid at his seminary (Jamia Siddiqia) in the Panj Garan area of the Bhakar district a day before the by-election. They formally requested Maulana Ludhianvi and Maulana Khalid on behalf of Shahbaz Sharif to pave the way for his unopposed election to ensure the beginning of a new chapter of friendship and amity between PML-N and the ASWJ. Our leadership subsequently decided to oblige Mian Sahib by withdrawing its candidate as a goodwill gesture”.

Approached by The News, Maulana Abdul Hameed Khan gave further details of the PML-N and the ASWJ détente which led to his withdrawal in favour of Shahbaz Sharif. “I am extremely hurt for having sacrificed my candidature and facilitated the election of someone who has no regard for his benefactors from the Ahle Sunnat Wal Jamaat. One feels sorry to say that the PML-N leadership has not only disowned its benefactors but also launched a tirade against them in the news and print media which is quite painful. Let me tell you frankly that it was actually Shaukat Javed, the then Inspector General of the Punjab Police who had first approached Maulana Ahmed Ludhianvi and arranged his meeting with Shahbaz Sharif in Lahore shortly before the Bhakar election. During the meeting, Maulana Ludhianvi had called me and handed over his phone to Shahbaz Sharif. It was then that Mian Sahib made me a personal request for withdrawal in his favour.”

Maulana Abdul Hameed Khan continued: “A six-member delegation of PML-N came to see me at Jamia Siddiqia Panj Garan in Bhakar a day before the election where Maulana Ludhianvi and other leaders had finally agreed to support Shahbaz Sharif. Immediately afterwards, the PML-N delegation and the leadership of the ASWJ went to the court of the district and sessions judge (Bhakar) where I formally withdrew my candidature. Sanaullah Khan Masti Khel then called Shahbaz Sharif and congratulated him for his unopposed election. He also made Mian Sahib say thanks to me on telephone. I had met Shahbaz Sharif only once since he became the chief minister. The meeting was held in Lahore where he thanked me for my sacrifice and told me that the leadership of the two parties should constantly stay in touch”.

Earlier, PML-N spokesman Pervaiz Rasheed had strongly refuted reports of a possible seat adjustment deal with the ASWJ in the coming general elections, saying his party had neither sought nor seeks the support of any extremist group or party in the polls. Although Pervaiz sticks to his ‘official stance’, Maulana Mohammad Ahmed Ludhianvi had reminded him that besides paving the way for Shahbaz Sharif’s unopposed election from Bhakar, the PML-N and ASWJ had jointly contested the March 2010 by-election on another Punjab Assembly seat PP-82 (Jhang) that was won by PML-N’s Azam Chela. Maulana Ludhianvi added while referring to the PML-N leadership: “They are weak people who can’t stand up to pressures. They lack the ability to stay firm in difficult times. They deem it convenient to change their stance under changing circumstances”.

According to Dr Khadim Dhillon, instead of disowning his benefactors in the ASWJ and launching a tirade against the party, Shahbaz Sharif should have been grateful to people like Maulana Ludhianvi and Maulana Hameed for whatever they did for him. “Shahbaz Sharif had given us a commitment at the time of the Bhakar by-election that he would not repeat past mistakes. But it seems that he has not only forgotten his previous mistakes but is bent upon committing more. But let me make it clear to all and the sundry that we are here to exist as a reality. We have thousands of voters in almost every constituency of South and Central Punjab and the PML-N leadership is destined to knock at our doors once again when the elections come”.

LAHORE: With the elections closing in, not all is well in camp Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N), if some insiders are to be believed.
The forced resignation of Punjab Finance Minister Rana Asif is being viewed by party insiders as one more manifestation of brewing differences between Nawaz and Shahbaz Sharif.
Said to have been inducted in the Cabinet on the instructions of PML-N chief Nawaz Sharif, Rana has been shown the door, as rumour has it, by the Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif.
Ostensibly vying with Imran Khan’s Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) for the vote bank of extreme religious right (ERR), which is said to be sizeable in Punjab, the PML-N faction led by Shahbaz is believed to have felt obliged to fire Rana, a minority member, in hope that this gesture on the part of the party would tip the balance in its favor vis-à-vis the ERR.
The sources said that PML-N is clearly divided into two groups: one led by MNA Khawaja Muhammad Asif who gets his inspiration from Nawaz while the other is led by Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan who is said to get his instructions from Shahbaz. The events that led to the finance minister’s eventual forced resignation began unfolding with rumours that Asif is a Muslim by birth and is pretending to be a Christian simply to bag a minority MPA seat. He is also said to have dual nationality.
According to sources, Nawaz Sharif took notice of Asif’s predicament and asked Advocate General (AG) Ashter Ausaf to help him resolve the dual national problem, so any controversy could be avoided. Asif along with the AG visited the Canadian Embassy on June 5 to get his certificate of renunciation – but they were informed that the process will take some time.
On June 5, the AG, in a report to the high-ups of the party, said that Asif’s case could easily be put on hold till expiry of the current tenure of Punjab Assembly. But Shahbaz ignored the report and called a meeting of the AG, Secretary Coordination Dr Touqeer Shah and Rana Sanaullah. When their meeting ended, they informed Asif that the party may face trouble if he remains a minister and that the chief minister could not afford such a situation, with elections around the corner.
Asif, whose appointment was recommended by Khawaja Asif, approached the MNA and both conveyed the situation to Nawaz, who was in Dubai.
According to sources, Nawaz asked the Punjab government to wait till his return before any decision is taken on the matter.
However, a night before Nawaz arrived, Shahbaz got Asif to resign and even asked him to leave the city for the time being.
Nawaz returned on Friday morning – only to be told that Asif had resigned the night before.

Asif, while talking with The Express Tribune, said that it was unfortunate that some elements from his party had hatched a conspiracy against him and put his life at stake. Saying he feared assassination, he added that he had been portrayed as an infidel which is regrettable for the whole community.


Rana Sanaullah
Sanaullah said that Asif’s portfolio has been withdrawn as he possesses dual nationality. He said that the Supreme Court is going to hear a case on the matter on June 13 while the Punjab government will present its budget on June 9 – and if the apex court gives an order against Asif, the Punjab government would definitely face embarrassment.

KARACHI: In another startling revelation, former Mehran Bank chief Younis Habib Saturday claimed that he delivered money by his hand to Pakistan Muslim League Chief Nawaz Sharif at his home.
Talking to senior anchor Hamid Mir in 'Capital Talk' programme, Younis Habib said Rs2.5 million were also sent to Shahbaz Sharif through Telegraphic Transfer (TT) on September 27, 1993.
Habib further revealed that Aftab Sherpao was given a bigger amount so that he brings sizeable deposits to Mehran Bank.
He said in order to make up for mistakes committed in 1990, he extended support in 1993 to Pakistan People's Party and it came to power again that year.
The man on wheelchair said in 1993 he once again used money and weakened Nawaz Sharif's vote position by pitting Maulvis against him.
He said the money paid to the politicians was nothing less than a bribe (Rishwat), admitting that taking or giving bribe was a sin. "Bribe leaves no trace behind," he added.
Younis Habib said in 1990, he was pressurized to arrange money 'by hook or by crook' to be disbursed among politicians. He said it was not possible to arrange that kind of money in a legal way so he had to commit manipulation.
He was assured that ways would be discovered to get the money returned to the bank in future.
Younis Habib warned bankers to always keep a distance from 'army, a politician and a bureaucrat'.

NAB body to review corruption cases of Sharif brothers

ISLAMABAD: The National Accountability Bureau Wednesday decided to reopen more than 40 high-profile corruption cases against politicians including PML-N chief Mian Nawaz Sharif and Punjab chief minister Shahbaz Sharif, which were pending for the last six years.
The decision was taken in a meeting of the executive board of the National Accountability Bureau chaired by its chairman Admiral (Retd) Fashi Bukhari.
The board formed a committee under the chairmanship of Prosecutor General Accountability, K.K Agha, to review all politically motivated cases framed during the tenure of General (Retd) Pervez Musharraf against the politicians and legislators.
Fashi Bokhari expressed his displeasure over the delay in the submission of cases which were pending for want of action on one pretext or the other and directed the concerned officials to put up those cases for decisions as early as possible. Chairman NAB also directed that if an accused is punished in one case the other case against him should not be prolonged and the decision should be taken on merit.
Earlier a special committee was set up to look into these cases and submit them to the board for decision, as there was no substantial evidence available to prove these cases. The special committee was also working under the Prosecutor general Accountability K. K Agha.
The executive board also decided to hand over Rawalpindi Employees Cooperative Housing as well as National Assembly Cooperative Housing Society scams to the special operations divisions for further investigations.
The concerned officials were given a deadline of one week to complete the inquiry against Tariq Ayub Khakwani, the main accused of misuse of authority in the National Assembly Cooperative Housing Society.
It is to be mentioned here that last year the NA special committee on the National Assembly Cooperative Housing Scheme headed by Sheikh Waqas Akram had identified five employees of the National Assembly and Islamabad administration who were involved in the multi-billion scam of the housing society. They were Shahid Hussain Jilani, ex-president of NAECHS management committee Salamat Ali, ex-deputy commissioner/registrar ICT, Asadullah Faiz, Malik Din and Tariq Khan Khakwani and recommended actions against them.
The committee had asked the interior ministry to place their names on the Exit Control List. According to National Assembly special committee’s report that was presented in the National Assembly last year, Tariq Khakwani was found guilty of irregularities, mal-practices and misappropriations of the society’s funds as he caused illegal drainage of deposits of the members of the society amounting to Rs212.5 million on account of the development work without approval of layout plan and NOC.
According to the report, the committee sought the recovery of Rs7390000 from Tariq Khakwani on account of payments made for purchase of land that has not been transferred and asked the FIA to look into the matter that the 92 Kanals and 17 marlas of land purchased by him is not in compact block.
Apart from 30 kanals retrieved by this inquiry committee the rest of the land is not suitable and he further purchased 7.5 kanals of land that was already mortgaged to some one else and Rs90 million were misspent under this head.
The committee found Tariq Khakwani responsible for losses to the tune of Rs98120260 and asked the FIA to prosecute him and either the amount be deposited into the society’s account or equivalent development work be carried out at the site of NAECHS.
The executive board authorized inquiry against LDI telecom companies for failure to pay the annual licence fee and other allied service charges. It was also decided that the case of M/s Xtreme Defence System Karachi be referred to the Federal Bureau of Revenue for recovery of duties and taxes on the import of equipment.
The board instructed early completion of investigation against town officers of the Municipal Administration Rawalpindi. The cases of misuse of authority by officials in the Teachers Training Programme, Bashir Ahmed Farooqi, former DOR Rawalpindi Tariq Mehmood, Former Secretary RTA, former deputy director Punjab and Housing and Town Planning Agency Rawalpindi Khaliq-ur-Rehman, former regional manager of defunct SBFC Hasnat Khan Kiyani while inquiries against ex-DDG CDA Muhammad Iqbal Noor and former deputy superintendent customs for assets beyond their known sources were closed after detailed deliberations.

LAHORE: The Punjab Assembly today witnessed another chaotic session when the members from both sides of the benches exchanged abusive language against each other.
The session was adjourned by the speaker for ten minutes, but resumed half an hour later.
The assembly hall looked like a fish market where the legislators got angry over continuous absence of CM Shahbaz Sharif from the assembly and deaths due to drug reaction.
When the session began, PML-Q's Samina Khawar Hayat termed Shahbaz Sharif Qatil-e-Aala upon which another member Sheikh Allaudin interrupted her. Treasury members also raised slogans against her.
This angered Samina and she then called Allaudin 'Lota and used abusive language. Allaudin also replied in more indecent words.

Lahore: Shahbaz Sharif has been challenged in Punjab High Court on the basis that he has kept 18 ministries to himself. 

Naushab Khan Advocate has submitted a petition in Lahore High Court in which he has made Chief Minister Punjab's principal secretary the opposite party. It has been said in petition that Chief Minister has not been able to fulfil his constitutional responsibilities due to his act and the recent drug reaction in Punjab Institute of Cardiology is an open proof of that.

Lahore: Punjab government's Laptop scheme also seems to go down in the soil as the 'Sasti Roti Scheme' did. Even after the elapsing of 3 months after the announcement, no laptop has been given to anyone. The terms on which the laptops are to be given are continually changed and as a result students are unable to get any. On the other hand, it can be expected that these Rs 3.74 billion/- would also end in the hands of corrupt bureaucracy.

Nawaz Sharif and Shahbaz Sahrif, who have overnight become the champions of democracy and politics of principles have shamelessly admitted that they have some sort of ‘deal’ and/or agreement with Musharraf or Saudi government. Talking to BBC reporter Shahbaz Sharif sheepishly admitted that there was a written deal with Musharraf althought he maintains that they were forced to sign on the document. Nawaz Sharif on the other hand told an Indian news channel that there was no written agreement with Musharraf, but admits that he had an ‘agreement’ with Saudi government, the details of which he did by disclose.

So Shahbaz Sharif admits having a written deal signed by him and Nawaz Sharif, while Nawaz Sahrif denies any written deal with Musharraf but admits an agreement with Saudi government. What a bunch of hypocrites.
