London College – Imran to be awarded honorary fellowship

ISLAMABAD: Legendary cricketer Imran Khan will be awarded with the Honorary Fellowship of the Royal College London on Friday (July 27) in a special ceremony at the College.
Shaukat Khanum Memorial Trust Board of Governors Chairman Imran Khan is going to be awarded an Honorary Fellowship of the Royal College of Physicians of Edinburgh in recognition of his services to healthcare in Pakistan and overseas, and in particular for his enormous contribution to cancer treatment by establish the Shaukat Khanum Memorial Cancer Hospital and Research Centre, reported a private news channel.
The Royal College of Physicians of Edinburgh was founded in Edinburgh, receiving its Royal Charter in 1681. The college acts in an advisory capacity to the UK government as well as to other organizations on many aspects of health and welfare and medical education. It was instrumental in founding the Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh in 1729 and, over the years, has influenced the development of medical schools in North America, Australasia, Asia and Africa. The Royal College of Physicians of Edinburgh now has over 10,000 Fellows and Members and maintains strong links with many other countries, where more than half of them live and practice medicine.
