“Taliban had barged into Karachi and wanted to occupy the metropolitan”, voice echoed way back in 2008 from London, far from Pakistan. The authorities here were busy in whether to give former military ruler and president of Pakistan a safe exit or not. Others, including politicians and media were having a laugh at what Altaf Hussain warned about.
Their logic was “MQM is not willing to accept the Pashtoon IDPs settling in Karachi” during the Swat operation. Hence, the warning was cooked with conspiracy and faded away in a few weeks time.
The maestro of MQM workers, Altaf continued to share his concerns about Talibanization of Pàkistan’s economical backbone, Karachi. Later, we all witnessed that his concerns were genuine. Not only he warned the nation about the present fears of extremism, he also ensured that he and his party will always be the biggest hurdle in the way of Talibanization.
Considering the fact that MQM isn’t a law enforcement agency, but being political force, MQM and its leader Altaf carries a clear cut no tolerance policy towards Terrorism and Extremism.
Yesterday, after the attack of terrorists on a Tableeghi Markaz in Peshawar, Altaf Hussain urged the nation to socially boycott the political supporters of Taliban and other terrorist outfits. He said that the nation with unity and practical struggle against terrorists can eliminate terrorism. He also criticized the government on the policy of peace-talks, which have not yet initiated and innocent lives are lost every passing day.
It is a fact, if we don’t unite and practically boycott such elements of the society who support terrorism in any form, we won’t be able to save Pakistan from destruction. Do remember, he [Altaf] also stated that 2014 is the year for “Make” or “Break” for Pakistan.
Being a peace loving citizen, I firmly believe on what Altaf Hussain has said as I have witnessed myself that his predictions, political foresight and practical solutions to the faced problems is much Real than any other in Pakistan.
