Fauzia Kasuri, is amongst the very few founding members of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), today seems to have no value in PTI. Fauzia, who also gave up her US nationality so that she could participate in national elections as a candidate from PTI. However, ironically, some powerful families of Pakistani politicians who had joined PTI after its popularity, lobbied against her and she was not given a seat from PTI.
It should also be remembered that Fauzia had a very good friendship with Zahra Shahid Hussain (late) and both of them had liberal views. After Zahra Hussain’s murder, Fauzia has been further sidelined in the party.
Fauzia broke into tears when asked in a private TV talk-show program, News Beat by Paras about internal politics of PTI.
