Load-shedding issue: PTI shows its anti-Karachi face

26-05-2013
Secretary information of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf, Shireen Mazari has tweeted anti-Karachi tweet in which she targeted Karachi and stated that Karachi is the only place where no load-shedding while 12 hours load-shedding is being observed in Islamabad after interval of time. Further she said, this is ironic that people of Karachi ain’t facing load-shedding while everyone is facing across the country.

Karachi is one of the biggest metropolitan city of Pakistan and every political party wants to take control over this city. In the general-election of 2013, once again the traditional Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) has emerged as the high mandate political party of Karachi while this time Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf has succeed to secure second-highest mandate of Karachi after MQM.

PTI has replaced PPP, ANP, JI and other political parties in Karachi and now they have become the second biggest political party of Karachi. Political analysts claimed that PTI got votes, because they claimed to own people of Karachi.

But practically, PTI doesn’t seem sincere with the people of Karachi. Last day, senate body committee for water and electricity has demanded to cut off 650 mega watt electricity supply to Karachi and stated that Karachi is the only city where load-shedding is not being observed like other four provinces of Pakistan. The second biggest stake-holder of Karachi, PTI did not show its concern over this anti-Karachi statement and did not represent Karachi. Instead of representing Karachi, PTI officials also targeted Karachi.
