Shafqat Mehmood had narrow escape from membership dismissal

Islamabad: Central Secretary Information of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf [PTI] Shafqat Mahmood had narrow escape from the membership dismissal over condemning Taliban and criticising Tahir-ul-Qadri.

According to the sources, an important meeting session of PTI held in Islamabad under the supervision of chief Imran Khan, attendees of the meeting demanded to remove Shafqat Mehmood from his party position over marking statements against Taliban and criticising the mammoth convention of Tahir-ul-Qadri.

Finally, it has been decided to keep him as Secretary Information of PTI after arguments between attendees of the meeting.

Unauthorized usage of central media cell's letterhead of PTI

Lahore: Due to unauthorized usage of letterhead of PTI'S central media cell and bogus press releases, PTI Lahore's media cell was in a frenzy. According to sources a press statement which consisted of statements given by Lahore's secretary information, Mehmood Gilani, Doctor Sania and Shafqat Mehmood. And the letterhead on this statement was of Shafqat Mehmood which was bogus. When this was investigated by Shafqat Mehmood, it was discovered that statement was not released by Punjab Media Cell neither Central Media Cell.

The New Secretary of Information for PTI, Shafqat Mehmood was a bitter critic of PTI and Imran Khan. Shafqat Mehmood wrote an article in The News on 15 May 2009 'Imran Khan's strange politics' and in this article he dubbed Imran a failure and a westernized and liberal person. It is also to be remembered the former secretary of Information Mr Umar Cheema was a die-hard activist of PTI and he had given answer to each and every person including Shafqat Mehmood, the answer for his castigation on Imran Khan and PTI. It is only later that Umar Cheema came to know that the same person he replied for his criticism on Imran Khan would take Umar's own place in the party.
